In Flanders, De Machienerie has developed a distinctive voice within street theatre, where poetic imagery, mechanics, and play come together in layered performances.
What began as a construction workshop has grown into a fully fledged production house in which scenography and performance are inseparably linked. The installations are not merely a backdrop, but an integral part of the action and dramaturgy.
Today, this practice takes shape in performances where image, movement, and presence merge into a total experience — playful and layered, always in direct dialogue with the audience and the space in which it unfolds.
