Les Tortues Géantes des Galápagos
A Mechanical Family Installation
Once, they roamed the vast landscapes of the Galápagos in great numbers.
Slow, immense, and unperturbed, these giants moved across the earth — like living landscapes in motion.
Their presence filled the silence of the islands with an almost timeless sense of calm.
But with the arrival of humankind, this balance changed.
Today, this world is reimagined through a poetic mechanical installation where slowness, scale, and imagination come together.

“The combination of movement, scenography, and narrative feels perfectly balanced. It is rare to encounter an attraction with such a strong sense of atmosphere and craftsmanship.”
An Installation About Slowness and Presence
Les Tortues Géantes des Galápagos is a mobile artistic installation in which large mechanical tortoises create a slowly moving landscape.
The work explores slowness as an aesthetic principle: movement that does not accelerate, but slows down — creating space for observation, attention, and imagination.
The sculptural figures move with a rhythm that feels almost organic, as though time itself has briefly begun to flow differently.
A Mechanical Landscape Full of Life and Rhythm
Within the installation, a playful yet layered universe unfolds, where smaller mechanical creatures also find their place.
The giants form the slowly moving landscape, while other figures introduce rhythm and tension to the scene.
Together, they create a living composition in which mechanics and imagination remain in constant dialogue.
A World That Slows Down
Les Tortues Géantes des Galápagos creates a space where time does not speed up, but slows down.
The work invites visitors to observe without haste and to engage with a landscape that gradually reveals itself through movement and stillness.
An installation that does not tell you what to see, but leaves space for what emerges.
