Les Grenouilles Perdues
Mechanical Frogs

The Lost Frogs brings the wondrous world of amphibians to life.

The green frog, the brown frog and the tree frog jump up and down with eager energy, their mouths tirelessly opening and closing. They seem hungry, impatient, always searching for their next meal.

Participants are invited to feed the frogs and become part of this playful spectacle. But will the frogs ever have enough?

"The Lost Frogs is a playful ode to the small wonders of nature, where mechanics, imagination and interaction meet."

A visual installation full of wonder

Les Grenouilles Perdues is an interactive mechanical installation where play, craftsmanship and nature come together.

The moving frogs immediately catch the eye. Their rhythmic jumps and lively motion create a scene that is at once familiar, humorous and enchanting.

Behind its playful surface lies a deeper narrative. Frogs and other amphibians are among the most endangered animal groups worldwide. In Belgium as well, several species are protected. With this installation, we briefly place these remarkable creatures in the spotlight.

The mechanical figures form a vivid tableau that invites both young and old to come closer and pause for a moment, reflecting on a often hidden fragment of nature.

A choreography of interaction and imagination

Around the installation, a playful encounter unfolds between audience and machine.

Participants step into action, while the frogs respond with their own curious and insatiable nature. Meanwhile, the machinist brings the installation to life, perhaps even revealing a few secrets of the frog world.

Are the frogs truly in search of a tasty meal?
Or are they secretly dreaming of that one magical kiss that could change everything?

What begins as a simple interaction gradually unfolds into a poetic moment where imagination, humour and wonder come together.
